ENDODONTICS

WHAT IS ENDODONTICS?

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of pathological processes of the dental pulp and periradicular tissues.

WHAT IS ENDODONTIC TREATMENT OR “ROOT CANAL” OF A TOOTH?

The endodontic treatment of a tooth means removing the tooth pulp contained in the pulp chamber and in the root canals and replace it with an inert material after suitably shaping and cleaning the root canal space.

  • The presence of a very deep caries that goes up to the pulp or near it; in this case, the pain can be more or less strong and the only way to relieve pain is devitalizing the tooth.
  • When there are lesions of endodontic (granuloma) in the apex of a tooth after an inadequate tooth grooving cure.
To prepare prosthetic teeth they must sometimes be treated in advance to prevent pulp impairment as a result of maneuvers protein.
  • Teeth should be separated or a root must be removed for periodontal reasons.
  • Need to place a pin grooved to ensure a greater retention for the reconstruction of a tooth.
